Touchdown Thailand!

Ahhhhh, departure from a humid, hot day in Macau and arrival... on a humid, hot day in Thailand?!? Nevertheless, there is no understating the difference between the two countries.

On the left-hand side is the quaint view of the Venetian Macau and the still-forthcoming Venetian Orient Limited in the still of the morning. Taipa village can be seen at the bottom! To the right is a view of the Easternmost of the three bridges between Macau and Taipa Islands.

(left) The morning was grey, but even on grey days the sun is shining brightly above the clouds. (right) Through the mist is barely visible my first look at the Kingdom of Thailand!

(left) Again, Thailand from the sky. The architecture is so different from anything I've seen before! (right) the landscape of Thailand.... here, we're facing the downtown area of Bangkok!

The Thailand airport. Like I said, the architecture is really something else! The weather was quite hot, but the humidity here seems to be much better than the Macau region.

This is an area, perhaps better-termed a suburb of Bangkok known as Bangna. The roads are really busy. There are sixteen lanes on the ground, and another eight lanes above (on the highway supported by concrete pillars).

A local playground from the neighborhood. The culture is soo much different than anything I've ever seen! The people are very friendly, but also very shy and reserved.

A small street in Bangna. A large number of dogs and cats make the streets home - most of them pets. The animals don't pose a danger though, and seem to disregard the wandering travelers. Food stands line the streets. The cleanliness may be questionable, but the smells of fish and chicken roasting on sticks over an open fire is overwhelming!
